  • Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the United States

  • More than 13,000 Floridians died of stroke in 2018

  • Approximately 1 in 4 stroke survivors will have another stroke within 5 years

  • Stroke risk and occurence of stroke are higher among racial/ethnic minorities

  • Strokes can be prevented by changing diet and lifestyle factors
